This was, without question, the best and most memorable stay I’ve ever had in Alaska. I was sent to Valdez for work and was fortunate enough to secure rooms here for myself and my crew. From the very beginning, the hospitality was unmatched. The rooms were immaculately cleaned every single day. The front desk staff—“The Gia” and the always-bubbly “Isabelaaaa”—greeted me with such warmth and energy that I actually looked forward to their shifts. General Manager “Sam” was a force of nature, personally handling every change to our constantly shifting work schedules. Between billing adjustments and unexpected flight changes, I came to know Sam and the team well. Their care and professionalism never wavered. One night, I even faced a medical emergency that required swapping out a departing employee with a new arrival on short notice. Sam, Laura, and Kadence immediately jumped in—cleaning and preparing the room, switching the bookings, and making what could have been a stressful ordeal feel completely seamless. I have truly never experienced this level of hospitality anywhere. The location itself is amazing, and my third-floor view of the harbor was the perfect place to unwind after long days. After staying over a month, I can say without hesitation that this will always be my go-to place in Valdez.

Our team had the pleasure of staying at Chugach Naswik Suites on two separate occasions—December 2025 and again in February 2026—and both experiences were outstanding. From the very beginning, Samantha Burke provided exceptional support in coordinating our group accommodations. Her responsiveness, attention to detail, and genuine commitment to making our stay seamless made all the difference, especially as our plans evolved and required flexibility. Samantha ensured that every question was answered promptly and every logistical detail was handled with care. Her professionalism set the tone for both visits, and it was clear that she takes great pride in delivering a high standard of service. The hospitality from the entire Chugach Naswik Suites team was equally impressive. Staff members were consistently courteous, welcoming, and attentive, creating an environment that felt both comfortable and well-managed. Whether it was assistance at check-in, help with local recommendations, or day‑to‑day support during our stay, the team demonstrated professionalism and warmth at every step. We are truly grateful for the level of service we received during both stays. Samantha and her team made our time in the area significantly easier and more enjoyable, and we look forward to returning in the future. Chugach Naswik Suites has earned our highest recommendation.

Absolutely enjoyed this room looking out on the mountains. The room was spotless, and very comfortable. It was exactly how pictured on the website. I was able to get in using the keyless system with no problems. I rated a 4 for service as when I reached out after 10 PM via message, to ask a question about the blinds, it gave me a number to call. I was uncomfortable calling at the late hour. I eventually figured out the blinds. I would like to suggest a manual or label the different switches as to how to work the utilities. Loved that it was right in the heart of Valdez with food nearby.

My stay at the Naswik Suites was absolutely delightful! The staff is incredibly friendly, accommodating, and truly go that extra mile to ensure your comfort. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and the views are incredible! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Valdez, you will not be disappointed!

Best hotel in town, modern. Fit our needs. For management: I recommend pans for the oven. We had an oven in our room but nothing to actually use it. So we used these random mixing bowls to heat up our food. Other than that the stay was good.

Staff so responsive, made my family’s special day amazing with all their attention to detail. Front desk staff so helpful , we will definitely stay again.

It’s heartening to see such a commitment to creating something so lasting and impactful. I’ll undoubtedly stay here again and encourage others to experience Naswik as well. Whether you’re visiting for the incredible scenery, world-class service, or to appreciate the cultural and historical ties to the area, Chugach Naswik Suites is a destination that stands out in every way.

You really shouldn’t stay anywhere else in Valdez. We come to ski…and have stayed at the best western for years, and one year the Totem. The totem is full of heli skiers, while the best western leaves something to be desired. This place is perfect. New, quiet, and allows us to cook for the many days we are here. I will 100% stay here again! Updating this review because apparently heli skiers stay here too now, but haven’t seen or heard them yet. Also - I recommend bringing ear plugs and a sleep mask (even though one is provided). The plows get out early and there is noise from cars coming and going.
